The Nigeria Police Force Situated in Rivers State Command, said to have take into custody suspected 20 notorious Robbers and kidnappers in the State and 16 exotic vehicles were said to have been recovered from them.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Zaki Ahmed, have made it clear in a recent announcement made at a briefing in Port Harcourt, yesterday.

Zaki made it clear that 9 of them were armed robbery while 11 others were suspected kidnappers. According to him, most of the suspects were arrested by the Federal Special Anit-Robbery Squad, FSARS, in the state.

The commissioner said, they recovered  from the suspects 16 cars of different makes, nine pump action guns and 20 locally made pistols, and several ammunition.

He advised members of the public whose cars were stolen to come with relevant documents for identification and get back their cars.

Zaki added, more than 300 cult members had wave the white flag and 47 guns and cutlasses and axes, among others were  surrendered, to the command with the help of Salvation Ministries Church in Port Harcourt.

He added that, they were to get this after they repented and became “born again” Christians.

Zaki commended Pastor David Ibiyeomie, The General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, for taking the gospel to the creeks and urged other clerics to borrow a leaf from Ibiyeomie, saying the command had robust relationship with religious bodies in the state.

He said all the ex-cult members were now undergoing skill acquisition training, noting that “the command is investigation the cases and would arraign the suspects in court at the end of the investigations.”
In his contribution, Pastor Ibiyeomie said about 300 repented cult members were undergoing skill acquisition training.

Represented by Oye Allen,  Ibiyeomie said the ex-cultists would be empowered after the training programme to enable them to be useful to themselves and the nation at large...
