An Osogbo born chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Fatai Diekola, has been arrested in the build-up to Osun Rerun today at Osogbo.



According to a report, the arrest was premised on allegations of the Osogbo born politician possession of 62 PVCs.

The men of NSCDC who was reported to have made this arrest did so at Alekuwodo area, Ward 5 of Osogbo Local Government while he was trading the act of buying PVCS from prospective voters ahead of the Governorship rerun.

Speaking with an eyewitness who confirmed this incident and the eventual violence that followed by a group of thugs armed with guns and cutlasses at Adewale Street, Akinlade of Alekuwodo area.

This eyewitness disclosed several gunshots have been fired by these thugs and many of the residents have fled to their heels with several shops closed.

Responding to this happenings, a camp believed to be loyal to Adeoti, one Mr. Fagbohungbe Olufunsho David, has claimed this was an assassination attempt on Diekola. He claimed two persons were attacked and wounded at the scene of the event.

The official details of the arrest are still unknown.
