Atiku Slammed Buhari, Says “Nigeria Has Never Been In Such A Horrible State Before”

Oct 30, 2021

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s government on Saturday for what he called “bad economic management.”

Atiku, who made the remarks at the Peoples Democratic Party’s national elective convention in Abuja, said President Muhammadu Buhari “failed to make the most of the opportunity Nigerians gave him when he was first elected in 2015 and again in 2019.” He said President Buhari “failed to make the most of the opportunity Nigerians gave him when he was first elected in 2015 and again in 2019.”

“Today, our country is facing the most challenging and arduous moment of its history,” he remarked. I am over 70 years old, yet I have never seen this country in such a horrible state, so divided, with so much unemployment and instability in its history.

“Because of the lackluster performance and complacency of successive administrations, culminating in the gross failure of this APC-led government, Nigeria is on the verge of social and security challenges in all directions, as well as lingering tension surrounding the very nature of our corporate existence as a nation.”

“As we ponder the issues that our great country faces as a nation, consider this: we have a chance to right the ship today.” We have the opportunity to make amends for prior leadership faults as well as our collective mistakes.

“We have the opportunity to unite the country on the path to greatness in order to realize and surpass the dreams of our forefathers who struggled for independence so many years ago.” A chance to take the opportunity to lead our country to its proper place in the international community.

“We can salvage ourselves, the party, and Nigeria as a whole if we work together.” We have our differences, and we will confront huge hurdles along the path, but if we can just join hands and work together on this noble course, we can face and overcome anything.

“The PDP is not perfect, and none of us are flawless as people.” However, we continue to work every day to improve and learn from our mistakes. The APC has shown that it is unfit to run the country. They have proven to be corrupt, in fact, the most corrupt, sectarian, and divisive political party in the country’s history.

“It is therefore our job to stop the Nigerian nation’s downward spiral and save the country from even larger disasters. This is a responsibility that we all share.

“We must put our differences aside. We must shine our brightest lights to rescue, restore, and rebuild the foundation so that we can usher in prosperity, decency, security, economic growth, lower unemployment, and restore our country’s dignity.

“I am calling to members of our great party, as well as all Nigerians, to put aside our past disputes, to put political intrigues and scheming aside, and to wrestle power from the APC.

“For the past six years, the APC has completely failed Nigerians. This is a critical time for us politicians to work together to put Nigerians back on the path to progress and growth. The unity of the PDP’s top players is a reflection of Nigerians’ togetherness.

“I believe we should return and concentrate the party’s efforts on a specific area of competency. I believe we should bring together our technocrats and brightest minds to help us design the course for the party’s future in the country.”
