Current News in Osun State | Ayu is Not to Blame for The Osun PDP’s Demise
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, national leadership is unhappy with recent developments in the party’s Osun state chapter, has condemned instigations as anti-party activities, and denies that the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, is involved in the problem.
Those implicated will be sanctioned, according to a top assistant to Dr. Ayu, who noted that it irritated the party leadership that a state Chairman who had been duly recognized had been sabotaged.
According to reports from Makurdi, the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Ayu, was enraged by the actions of some party chieftains, who threatened the party’s chances in the 2022 gubernatorial race.
Dr. Ayu, who had returned home for the holidays, was claimed to be disturbed by the fresh antagonism and to have called several party leaders in the South-West to rein in those responsible for the latest squabble.
Following the selection of Soji Adagunodo as South-West chairman, an adviser to the national chairman stated the Chairman had penciled Osun as a “must” state.
“He was surprised and saw the recent acts as sabotage,” the aide said. The Chairman believes that Adagunodo’s elevation has ended the Osun crisis because all parties involved have been paid in some way.
“Those responsible for recent snarls will face consequences. The Chairman was also displeased that some Osun PDP actors referred to him as a supporter.”
“In any situation, the Chairman has no involvement.” He opposes any action that could jeopardize the Osun PDP’s tranquility,” a senior assistant to Dr. Ayu stated.
