Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation in President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, has formally joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
On Thursday, the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, presented him to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Mr. Fani Kayode stated that he was led by the Spirit of God in his decision and that he joined the APC to help the country’s unity, adding that he was opposed to anything that would cause Nigeria’s disintegration.
He stated that he was instrumental in the transfer of three governors from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC.
Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State, and Bello Matawale of Zamfara State were among the governors he mentioned.
He also stated that he has friends across party lines and is wooing the governors of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, and Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, to join the ruling party.
