His Eminence Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto, has described Osun State’s achievements in its three decades of existence as one that humbles older states.
Abubakar stated that it was no surprise that in Osun’s 30 years of statehood, it had produced a galaxy of stars in all sectors and areas of human endeavor, adding that the state is endowed with both human and natural resources.
The Sultan, speaking as chairman of Osun’s 30th anniversary colloquium on Thursday, praised the government for choosing to commemorate the landmark anniversary with a colloquium, adding that the initiative was a significant strategy for connecting the past with the present and the future to help build a sustainable enterprise.
Abubakar praised Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, describing him as a gentleman governor, a man of peace, a man of honour, a statesman, a bridge builder, a lover of development, and a believer in a single, strong, and indivisible Nigeria.
“I have closely followed Governor Oyetola’s programs since his appointment. He entered government with a Development Agenda based on adequate, quality, and equitable service in all sectors. He was a deep thinker, a silent reformer, and a performer. He has also implemented people-centered policies based on inclusive governance and long-term development.
“Another strategy he has used to further embed inclusive governance and sustainable development in the polity is to organize this Colloquium as part of the programs for this Anniversary,” Sultan Abubakar said.
