Breaking News in Osun State Today | PDP Rescind Adagunodo Adherents, and Affirms Bisi As The Party’s Chairman
PDP members in Osun state have barred some loyalists of National Vice Chairman, Southwest, Hon. Soji Adagunodo, from holding executive positions for allegedly attempting to disrupt the party.
Barr. Wale Ojo (Vice Chairman Osun East) and Alhaji Remi Arogundade are among those who have been fired from their positions and barred from holding executive positions for a year ( State financial Secretary).
It will be noted that the Adagunodo group recently appointed Wale Ojo as Acting Chairman of the party in the state, a decision swiftly condemned by the party.
According to a statement released by Ayodeji Areola after the party’s Executive Committee members met in Osogbo, the party has confidence in Sunday Bisi’s leadership and has affirmed his leadership.
“That a vote of confidence be and is hereby voted on Hon. Sunday Bisi as Chairman of the Osun PDP,” the resolution says. In addition, the leadership of the PDP’s State Executive Committee in Osun, led by Hon Sunday Bisi, has been handed on.
“There is no vacancy in the office of Chairman of the Osun PDP that warrants the claimed nomination/appointment of Hon. Wale Ojo or any other person as Chairman of the Osun PDP in any manner.”
“The report of the Osun PDP Disciplinary Committee recommending the removal of Barr Wale Ojo (Vice-Chairman Osun East) and Alh. Remi Arogundade (State Financial Secretary) as members of the SWC/SEC, their immediate replacement from their various local governments, and their debarment from holding any Party executive office for the next one year be and is hereby approved.”
